Dear Mark,

Since your message is not a bug report, it is probably better to send it to
the eclipse-users mailing list, where questions on ECLiPSe are sent, and the
list is read by more people as well.

The tty command line debugger reads the command character in raw mode, so I
don't think there is any way to change this behaviour. Is there any specific
reason why you want to run ECLiPSe from within an emacs shell? If it is for
keeping a record of the execution, then this can be done via the TkECLiPSe,
the Tcl/Tk top-level/development tools for ECLiPSe, and I would highly
recommend using it (it has a lot of nice features that makes development
easier).
