I had problems installing Eclipse 5.7-6.5 on Suse Linux 9.1. The basic-rpm was installed correctly by rpm -ihv ECLiPSe_basic-5.7-65.i386.rpm I could run Eclipse successfully in console-mode after the installation, but when I tried to install the tcl/tk-frontend, rpm had an error because a directory should be a file and rpm tried to rename it. It seems as if the script tries to extract the files in the tcl/tk-rpm into the tcltk-dir in /usr/lib/eclipse_5.7/ but tcltk should be a file. The Installation can be completed, if you copy the files from the tar.gz-archive downloadable on the eclipse-page containing the tcl/tk-files to the tcltk/-dir in the eclipse-installationdir manually. Then the tcltk/lib/-dir has to be set to exucute-right by root by chmod +x /usr/lib/eclipse_5.7/tcltk/lib/ Then "tkeclipse" runs xuccessfully.
