Filed as bug 443 (parser problem)
attached mail follows:
Dear Eclipse debugger :-) we are using the latest version of ECLiPSe (5.8_77) on a linux mandrake 9.0 distribution on a DELL PC (P4 2.4 GHz). First of all, we would like to thank you a lot for continuing to distribute evolutions of ECLIPSE. However, we had encountered two problems with the latest version that may also interest other users: 1) The following clause is not accepted by the new parser: [eclipse 37]: A = (if,b,c). syntax error: unexpected comma | A = (if,b,c). | ^ here The same query was accepted by the parser of version 5.7_26 2) The second problem is not strictly speaking a bug, but a lack in the release notes concerning the new handling of unify handlers for attributed variables. This difference appears in the documentation (section 16.7 of the user manual) with the additional optional argument for handling the "constrained suspensions" attached to the other variable, but is not mentionned in the release notes. Since this new behavior has a major impact on users constraint libraries implementation, this should be highlighted in the release notes. Furthermore, some guidelines should be given for users who want to keep a backward compatibility with previous ECLIPSE versions.
