German University in Cairo Openings - Faculty of Media Engineering and Technology Applications are invited for junior and senior faculty positions in all areas related to the study, design, and engineering of software systems. These areas include, but are not limited to, foundations of computer science, networks and security, computer architecture and system programming, artificial intelligence as well as digital media areas like digital system design, video processing, computer vision and multi-media design. There is a total of 4 position openings for January 2012. A doctoral degree in computer science or related areas and an strong research record are required. Successful candidates are expected to integrate into the current team of the faculty of Media Engineering and Technology (http://met.guc.edu.eg/ ), as well as teach graduate and undergraduate courses. Senior candidates must have demonstrated leadership abilities and recognized international stature. The GUC, founded in 2003, is a private Egyptian university under the hospice of the ministry of higher education, with a double accreditation bachelor degree, Egyptian and German, and postgraduate studies. The university has a strong student and research exchange program with its partner universities in Germany (Ulm, Stuttgart) together with a strong base in Berlin. The Media Engineering and Technology faculty currently has 11 faculty members, and offers an international and diverse work environment. The working language is English; knowledge of the German language is not required for a successful career at the GUC. The GUC is located in New Cairo, on the outskirts of Cairo.
