mkdir(+Path)

Create a directory/folder with the given name.
Path
An atom or a string.

Description

Used to create directories (folders) in the filesystem. Path may be an absolute or relative name.

Modes and Determinism

Exceptions

(4) instantiation fault
Path is not instantiated.
(5) type error
Path is neither an atom nor a string.

Examples

      [eclipse 1]: mkdir(tmpdir).

      yes.
      [eclipse 1]: mkdir(tmpdir).
      system interface error: File exists in mkdir(tmpdir)
