It could be an overflow of the C stack.
Try raising the limit using the ulimit Unix command, e.g.

tempest: ulimit -a
core file size (blocks)     0
data seg size (kbytes)      unlimited
file size (blocks)          unlimited
open files                  64
pipe size (512 bytes)       10
stack size (kbytes)         8192       <-- this one
cpu time (seconds)          unlimited
max user processes          15925
virtual memory (kbytes)     unlimited

tempest: ulimit -s unlimited


If that doesn't help, please send us the file.
