Hi Martin,

Sorry, I intended to send you e-mail about this, but forgot to do this.

I removed the work-around which allowed the 32 bit Windows binaries of
Java interface of ECLiPSe to work with 64 bit Java, because I am not
certain it is safe to allow this. The ECLiPSe Java interface has some
glue code written in C (and linked to Java using JNI), and to use this
code with 64 bit Java, the C code written using JNI should be compiled
and linked with the corresponding 64 bit version of the Java libraries.
Since we compile and link with the 32 bit version of Java, I cannot be
certain it is safe to run this with 64 bit Java.

I had thought it was safe to make the change because we test our ECLiPSe
builds on a 64 bit Windows machine, but we actually installed 32 bit
rather than 64 bit Java on this machine.

Given that the Windows binary for ECLiPSe itself run as a 32 bit
application anyway, there may be no advantage to trying to use 64 bit
Java with it.

Cheers,

Kish
